The Hale Keiki School (HKS) mission includes supporting children and their families. This commitment extends to all children notwithstanding their family's ability to pay tuition. HKS serves both a large military population as well as a local civilian population. Both military and civilian families may have a financial inability to pay the full cost of tuition. Financial aid or tuition assistance program will benefit those children and their families who otherwise might have financial inability to pay the full HKS costs. The financial aid program is intended to make Hale Keiki School more accessible and affordable to all students, thus fostering a more diverse school community.

Hale Keiki Internal Financial Aid
The HKS financial aid program is a need-based program designed to assist some families in reducing the cost of attendance. Paying for education is first and foremost the responsibility of the family, we devote limited funds each year to a financial aid budget that helps assist families. This will ensure consistent and equitable treatment of all applicants. All aid will be awarded on the basis of financial need as demonstrated through HKS and FACTS. To help us objectively assess what a family is able to contribute to its student(s) education expenses, we use FACTS as a trusted third party. Financial aid will not be awarded to students who do not qualify for it, nor will students be awarded financial aid in excess of their computed need. The total amount of financial aid granted depends on the availability of funds. Aid is granted for a period of one school year, based on current information; changes in a family's situation may change the amount awarded from year to year. Financial aid is not guaranteed every year regardless if you were awarded financial aid in a prior year.
HKS strives to accept enrollment of every student who meets their qualifications. In the administration of its financial aid program, HKS does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, ethnic origin, religious affiliation, sex, or gender.
Financial aid may be denied to families or students who have not been timely in completing the required financial aid forms, or in paying in full all outstanding school debts and accounts.
Grants will be awarded based on the funds available.

HOW TO APPLY
Financial Aid is available through FACTS.
1. If you have an existing Tuition Payment Plan through FACTS and have already created a user account, please enter your existing username and password and click “Sign In”. If you are a New FACTS User please select “Create a username & password” to begin.
2. Then click on the Start Application link.
3. Select the appropriate school year.
4. Complete the steps as prompted.
DECISION LETTER MAILINGS
Applicants to HKS financial aid program will receive notification letters by end of April.
Financial Aid Priorities
Financial aid awards will be made consistent with the HKS mission and the purpose of financial aid and will be guided by the following priorities:
Students are presently enrolled and receiving financial aid.
Students presently enrolled, not receiving financial aid, who now require financial aid in order to continue their enrollment due to a change in their family's financial circumstances.
New students enrolled may require financial aid to pay the full HKS tuition.
Exceptions to the above may be made at the discretion of Hale Keiki School.
